Belize, part of the British Commonwealth, is an unspoiled tropical paradise. The average temperatures are a balmy 29 C. Tourists visit Belize to enjoy the Caribbean beaches, Mayan ruins, citrus orchards, rum factories, caves, jungle treks, kayaking, birding, wildlife, water sports and scuba diving on the world ´s second largest barrier reef.

School

Jungle by the Sea Eco Resort is the centre for all programs, accommodation and meals. The resort is located on a pristine white sand beach in the city of Hopkins. Hopkins is famous for sport fishing, scuba diving and is the centre of Garifuna culture and drumming. Classes are held in the lounge or outdoor palapa.

English courses

A One-to-One:

• Hours per week: 10 hours .
• Time: - usually mornings from 8-10am but this can be arranged with the teacher upon arrival.
• Evening classes are also possible
• Size of the group: 1:1
• Levels: Beginner to Intermediate
• Content: Listening and Speaking (70%) Grammar, Reading and Writing (30%).
• Emphasis on Communication and functional English for daily life.

B One-to-One:

• Hours per week: 20 hours .
• Time: usually 8-10am and then 7-9pm but this can be rearranged with the teacher upon arrival.
• Size of the group: 1:1
• Levels: Beginner to Intermediate
• Content: Listening and Speaking (70%) Grammar, Reading and Writing (30%).
• Emphasis on Communication and functional English for daily life.

C Eco Adventure Program:

The ESL + Eco Adventure camp combines morning ESL classes with afternoon and weekend adventure activities in a tropical resort setting. 2 weeks - Starting weekly in June, July, August and September for groups of 10-25 (ages 19 and up).

• ESL 18 hours for the 2 week program.
• Time: see attached schedule usually 9am-12noon but it depends on the day.
• Size of the group: 10-25
• Levels: Beginner to Intermediate
• Content: Listening and Speaking (70%) Grammar, Reading and Writing (30%).
• Emphasis on Communication and functional English for daily life.
